The Transport Department trialled the Real-time Adaptive Traffic Signal System, which computes and optimises traffic signal timing by utilising artificial intelligence to analyse pedestrian and vehicular flows. On the back of the successful trial, the department plans to extend the system to about 50 independent signalised junctions in phases from 2026.
