THE number of subscriber identification card modules that were registered under Republic Act 11934 otherwise known as the SIM Card Registration Act, has breached 100,000 million.According to data from the National Telecommunications Commission, as of June 20, 2023, the number of SIM registrations has reached 100,048,884.The number represents 59.55 percent of the total number of active subscriber sim cards as of December 2022.Smart Communications leads the three telcos with the number of registered sims at 47,272,067 of its 66,304,761 active subscribers or 71.30 percent.Globe Telecoms has 45,868,577 out of its 86,746,672 active subscribers or 52.88 percent registered.Dito Telecommunity is at third with 6,908,240 of its 14,964,967 subscribers or 46.16 percent registered.The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) extended the April 26 deadline for 90 days.This gives the subscribers until July 25…
